The main substance abused by New Hampshire residents is opiates followed by heroin and marijuana/hashish. Teens make up 8.5% of all treatment center patients and are admitted mostly for hallucinogens and marijuana/hashish. White (non-Hispanic) are the most admitted race/ethnicity into rehabs centers in New Hampshire, making up about 94.4% of admits. The second largest group is Hispanic origin with 2.2% of all patients.

There are over 136 treatment facilities in New Hampshire. The top cities to get treated are Keene (19), Nashua (22) and Manchester (36). Most rehabs focus primarily on substance abuse treatment services, with over 50% of centers offering this service. 41% of clieants are treated for both alcohol and drug abuse, and 75% are treated via outpatient care. About 32% are treated via residential (non-hospital) care. 98% of clinics provide substance abuse counseling and 94% offer substance abuse counseling. 88% of New Hampshire treatment centers accept cash or self-payment and 61% accept private health insurance.
